Głównym tematem sztuki jest oswajanie lęku przed ciemnością. Spektakl angażuje dzieci poprzez obrazy, gesty i mimikę aktorek. Połączenie sztuki, komunikacji niewerbalnej oraz edukacji emocjonalnej czyni przedstawienie wyjątkowym doświadczeniem, sprzyjającym rozwojowi empatii i poczucia bezpieczeństwa u dziecięcej publiczności.
Punktem wyjścia do pracy nad spektaklem była książka „Słoneczne historie” Jana Wilkowskiego, a głównym założeniem znalezienie pozawerbalnego języka scenicznego, który będzie dostępny dla dzieci słyszących i niesłyszących/niedosłyszących. Twórcy korzystali z potencjału ekspresji polskiego języka migowego, form plastycznych i nietypowych sposobów udźwiękowienia spektaklu.
Koncepcja spektaklu powstała w ramach 3. edycji konkursu Sztuka się robi (wrzesień 2024), organizowanego przez Miejski Teatr Miniatura w Gdańsku.
The main theme of the performance is overcoming and coming to terms with the fear of darkness. The production engages children through visual imagery, gestures, and the actresses’ facial expressions. By combining art, non-verbal communication, and emotional education, the performance offers a unique experience that fosters empathy and a sense of security among young audiences.
The starting point for the creative process was Jan Wilkowski’s book Sunny Stories (Słoneczne historie). The principal objective was to develop a non-verbal stage language accessible to both hearing and deaf or hard-of-hearing children. The creators drew on the expressive potential of Polish Sign Language, visual forms, and unconventional approaches to the sound design of the performance.
The concept for the production was developed as part of the third edition of the Sztuka się robi (“Art in the Making”) competition, organised by the Miniatura City Theatre in September 2024.

Akademia Teatralna im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza w Warszawie, Filia w Białymstoku (dawniej Wydział Sztuki Lalkarskiej), od 1975 roku należy do najważniejszych ośrodków edukacji artystycznej w Polsce. Przez ponad pół wieku uczelnia wykształciła pokolenia twórców, którzy dziś współtworzą niemal wszystkie teatry lalek w kraju.
Specyfiką „szkoły białostockiej” jest umiejętne łączenie tradycyjnego rzemiosła z nowoczesnym podejściem do formy. Program nauczania obejmuje nie tylko klasyczne lalkarstwo, ale również teatr niekonwencjonalnych środków wyrazu – teatr przedmiotu, maski oraz szeroko rozumiane działania plastyczne. Dzięki temu absolwenci kierunku aktorskiego z powodzeniem odnajdują się nie tylko na scenach teatrów lalek, lecz także w teatrach dramatycznych, radiu i telewizji.
Od wielu lat uczelnia kształci również reżyserów teatru lalek, a od 2018 roku jej oferta została poszerzona o unikatowy kierunek – technologię teatru lalek. Studenci tego kierunku łączą kompetencje artystyczne z wiedzą technologiczną i warsztatem konstruktorskim, zdobywając umiejętności z zakresu scenografii, budowy lalek oraz projektowania form scenicznych.
Siedziba Filii mieści się w centrum Białegostoku, w zabytkowym gmachu z początku XX wieku. W jego wnętrzach znajdują się sale ćwiczeń i wykładowe, pracownie muzyczne, taneczne oraz techniczne, harmonijnie wpisane w historyzująco-secesyjny charakter budynku. Centralnym miejscem i sercem uczelni jest Teatr Szkolny im. Jana Wilkowskiego. Stanowi on nie tylko przestrzeń prezentacji studenckich umiejętności, lecz także platformę spotkań z najciekawszymi zjawiskami współczesnego teatru formy. Teatr Szkolny pełni zarazem funkcję kolejnej miejskiej sceny – otwartej na młodą, aktywną i poszukującą publiczność Białegostoku.
Od ponad dwóch dekad Akademia Teatralna im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza w Warszawie, Filia w Białymstoku, organizuje Międzynarodowy Festiwal Szkół Lalkarskich LALKANIELALKA – jedno z najważniejszych wydarzeń poświęconych edukacji artystycznej i twórczości młodych artystów teatru ożywionej formy z całego świata. W 2026 roku odbywa się jego dwunasta edycja.
The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, Branch Campus in Białystok (formerly the Faculty of Puppetry Arts) has been one of Poland’s leading centres of arts education since 1975. For more than half a century, it has educated generations of artists who today contribute to the work of nearly every puppet theatre in the country.
The distinctive character of the “Białystok school” lies in its ability to combine traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach to theatrical form. The curriculum encompasses not only classical puppetry but also theatre based on unconventional means of expression, including object theatre, mask theatre, and a broad range of visual arts activities. As a result, graduates of the Acting programme successfully pursue careers not only on puppet theatre stages, but also in dramatic theatre, radio, and television. For many years, the Academy has also trained directors specialising in puppet theatre. In 2018, its educational offer was expanded to include a unique programme in Puppet Theatre Technology. Students in this programme combine artistic competences with technological knowledge and construction skills, acquiring expertise in stage design, puppet construction, and the design of stage forms.
The Branch Campus is located in the centre of Białystok, in a historic building dating from the early twentieth century. Its interiors house rehearsal and lecture rooms, music, dance, and technical studios, all harmoniously integrated into the building’s historicist and Art Nouveau character. At the heart of the Academy stands the Jan Wilkowski School Theatre. It serves not only as a space for presenting students’ skills, but also as a platform for encounters with some of the most exciting phenomena in contemporary theatre of form. At the same time, the School Theatre functions as another city stage – open to Białystok’s young, active, and searching audience.
For more than two decades, the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, Branch Campus in Białystok, has organised the LALKANIELALKA (PUPPETNOPUPPET) International Festival of Puppetry Schools – one of the most important events dedicated to arts education and the work of emerging theatre-of-form artists from around the world. In 2026, the festival celebrates its twelfth edition.
