Publikacja Nowoczesne technologie w sztuce – współczesny teatr ożywionej formy / Modern Technologies in Art – Contemporary Theatre of Animated Form jest pokłosiem konferencji poprzedzającej 12. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Szkół Lalkarskich LALKANIELALKA 2026. Jej tematyka wyrasta z hasła tegorocznej edycji festiwalu – FUTURE – i skupia się na relacjach między teatrem formy, nowoczesnymi technologiami, nauką, dostępnością oraz współczesną praktyką sceniczną. Autorzy tekstów, reprezentujący środowiska naukowe, artystyczne i technologiczne, podejmują zagadnienia robotyki, sztucznej inteligencji, multimediów, cyfrowej rzeczywistości, druku 3D, intermedialności oraz nowych narzędzi wspierających dostępność kultury. 

Tom pokazuje, że technologia w teatrze nie musi być jedynie efektownym dodatkiem ani zagrożeniem dla tradycyjnego rzemiosła. Może stać się narzędziem poszerzania wyobraźni, budowania nowych form narracji, wzmacniania relacji z widzem oraz otwierania teatru na osoby o różnych potrzebach. Publikacja łączy refleksję teoretyczną z doświadczeniem praktyków, tworząc przewodnik po możliwościach świadomego wykorzystywania osiągnięć nauki w teatrze ożywionej formy. 

Dwujęzyczne, polsko-angielskie wydawnictwo zostało przygotowane przez Akademię Teatralną im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza w Warszawie, Filię w Białymstoku. Pomysłodawcą i autorem koncepcji konferencji jest prof. dr hab. Artur Dwulit. Promocja książki, organizowana w ramach 12. Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Szkół Lalkarskich LALKANIELALKA w Białymstoku, będzie okazją do rozmowy o przyszłości teatru formy, o miejscu nowych technologii w edukacji artystycznej oraz o możliwościach współpracy między środowiskami artystycznymi, naukowymi i technologicznymi. 

The publication Modern Technologies in Art – Contemporary Theatre of Animated Form / Nowoczesne technologie w sztuce – współczesny teatr ożywionej formy is the outcome of a conference held in advance of the 12th edition of the PUPPETNOPUPPET International Festival of Puppetry Schools 2026. Its subject matter grows out of this year’s festival theme – FUTURE – and focuses on the relationships between theatre of form, new technologies, science, accessibility, and contemporary stage practice. Contributors representing academic, artistic, and technological communities address topics such as robotics, artificial intelligence, multimedia, digital environments, 3D printing, intermediality, and new tools supporting cultural accessibility. 

The volume demonstrates that technology in theatre need not be merely a spectacular addition or a threat to traditional craftsmanship. Instead, it can become a means of expanding the imagination, developing new forms of storytelling, strengthening the relationship between performers and audiences, and opening theatre to people with diverse needs. Combining theoretical reflection with the experience of practitioners, the publication serves as a guide to the conscious use of scientific and technological achievements in contemporary theatre of animated form. 

This bilingual Polish-English publication has been prepared by the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, Branch Campus in Białystok. The conference was conceived and initiated by Professor Artur Dwulit. The book launch, held as part of the 12th LALKANIELALKA (PUPPETNOPUPPET) International Festival of Puppetry Schools in Białystok, will provide an opportunity to discuss the future of theatre of form, the role of new technologies in arts education, and the possibilities for collaboration between artistic, academic, and technological communities.
